I was commissioned to design a mural on the staircase at Bardo, a beloved house venue in Cambridge, MA.
I chose a looped face chain design, to represent the many connections that are created and sustained in this wonderful space!

Face Chain is a motif that I am exploring about human boundaries and identity. I believe that we all use each other to create who we are, and face chain is a visual representation of this concept.
The first time I ever drew the face chain was in 2016. And I have been exploring it ever since.

Mandala
Mandala making is a continued practice for me to promote spiritual health.
I am inspired by Carl Jung and his view of the mandala as a graphic representation of the Self. My personal approach to mandala making is fluid and forgiving. I set the intention of symmetry but allow organic imperfections to arise and dominate the design.

Drawing is another form of thinking for me.
It is a way to observe and appreciate my environment, through the lens of my perspective.
I enjoy creating space for my subconscious perspectives to come through in my drawings, through scribbling or blind contour, to expand the idea of what looks "realistic".
